  How does a
Hoffmann
Router work?
• Set the router depth using the scale on the X-Line 20, MU3 and MU3P or the digital reader on
the MU3D and MU3PD.
• Position the slot – lay
a mitred piece on the
bed and line up the slot location with the indicator on the machine. Slide up and lock the centre fence plate. On the MU3D and MU3PD the position is shown on the digital reader for quick and repeatable set-up.
• Place the first mitred piece to be routed on the left side of the bed with the rebate facing away.
• To start the machining cycle, pull the lever for X-20, MU3 & MU3D. Press the foot switch for MU3P & MU3PD.
• Padded hold-down plate / pneumatic clamp secures moulding and motor is switched on. Continued pulling / foot pressure advances the router head until pre-set height is reached.
• Release the lever to return the router to its home position, shut off motor and release the moulding. Pneumatic models return automatically.
• Move the mitred piece to the right side of the bed to rout the other end. Repeat for all four mitred pieces.
• Assemble the frame: Place the first two pieces face down, insert the key and tap it home with a soft face hammer. Repeat to complete the frame.
   Love harder wood mouldings,
hate joining them?
The Hoffmann Dovetail Routing & Joining System works differently – while a v-nail has to compress or displace timber, the Hoffmann router removes timber to form a slot in each face of the mitre. Moulded double dovetail keys are then tapped into the slot for a tight, permanent joint.
No filler required
  X-20 Manual Operation
Great for bespoke framers
Hoffmann joiners are made in Germany to exceptional design and build standards.
All are supplied with a W-1 router bit, solid tungsten carbide with a life of around 10,000 strokes. W-0 and W-2 bits are also available.
Require a standard 13a power supply and commercial grade vacuum cleaner for dust extraction. MU3P models require a compressed air supply.

MU3 Manual operation
X-line 20
£1,450.00
      9937
Heavier duty for higher volume work. Heavy cast aluminium construction with large, ergonomically shaped table surface,
precision linear bearings, galvanized steel motor carriage with integrated motor fine adjustment. Optional extension tables.
MU3 Manual
9937 MU 3 Manual £1,995.00
MU3 Digital: Like the MU3 but with digital reader for quick and accurate set-up of routing cycles.

£2,390.00
         MU3P
Pneumatic operation
More automated version of the MU3. One short stroke cylinder clamps the material the instant the foot pedal is pressed, while a second, larger cylinder moves the router carriage up and down. Operation is faster and more comfortable, and both hands can remain
on the moulding
during the routing
cycle, useful when working with larger frames. Optional extension tables.
Max routing height: 95mm, max moulding height: 150mm
MU3P Manual
 £2,750.00 9940 MU 3-P Pneumatic + Digital Reader £3,165.00
9939 MU 3-P Pneumatic
MU3P Digital: Like the MU3P but with digital reader for
quick and repeatable set-up of routing cycles.
