An occasional user error is to put v-nails in upside down. One face is silver - the blunt face. The other face is darker - that is the sharp face. Insert - silver face down, darker face up.

CAPS - Computerised Air Pressure System
The CAPS screen on the digital control
CAPS is a key operating feature of the Alfamacchine U-500 and U-600 series underpinners. It eliminates moulding surface damage by controlling the vertical clamping pressure. See also p.20.
• Eliminates the need to make manual air pressure adjustments for the vertical clamp.
• Pre-set clamping pressures can be called up from the touch screen
For example, on a softer wood you might want to test and set a lower pressure to avoid any risk of crushing. On a harder wood, you would test and set a higher pressure, to reduce the possibility of the moulding lifting. And once the top pressure and all the other settings are stored, they are recalled simply by keying in the moulding number.

The Polymer L-Pad system is fitted to all new 9463
Alfamacchine U-Series underpinners.
It is also an easy and low cost retro-fit option for all existing Minigraf and Alfamacchine underpinners. Unique clamping L-pad system features quick- change pliable polymer pads which fit into the pad holder on the top clamp.
The polymer L-pads conform under
pressure to the contour of the
moulding surface to improve clamping
without damaging delicate surfaces.
Pads are quickly changed to suit different
types of mouldings, and easily wiped clear of glue.
Upgrade yours: If you use a Minigraf underpinner, any age or model, with a magnetic face on the top clamp you can upgrade to the Polymer Top L-Pad system by simply ordering: 9462 + 9463 + 9464 + 9465, just £56.62 total.
