Drain your air compressor’s tank weekly !
Many of the service problems framers encounter relate to water in their compressed air system. The water is a side-effect of compressing naturally moist air. It can lead to
a build-up of a cream-like substance which can cause failure of valves and controls.
Also, if you use a blow gun, the water can come out as dirty droplets. So, drain your tank at least once a week.
The easiest way to reduce the problem is to fit a coalescent moisture filter, below, on the output side of your compressor. This should remove 99% of any oil and 90% of water which might be present. Be sure to drain it each week.
A good investment at around £200.
For completely dry air, you will need to fit a refrigerated air drier. These can be around £2200 and our technical experts can advise.
Coalescent Moisture & Oil Filter
A coalescent moisture filter with pre-filter will remove 99.98% of oil and 90% of water.
The oil and water removed are retained in the filter and should be drained each week. We can advise on the correct component set and fitting procedure.
Quiet & Silent Compressors
Noise levels can be very subjective and there are many variables including background noise and the acoustic environment.
We suggest that, you visit our warehouse and have a listen.
Typically, you might run an underpinner and an air tool off a compressor. These should normally be run at different pressures.

Air system lubrication is in two parts. The compressor itself takes compressor oil, and
this must be maintained as instructed by the manufacturer.
Not all framing equipment requires lubricated air. Check with us.
Special TELLUS oil for air equipment. Set your lubricator so that it passes no more than one or two drips per hour. Not for compressors.

Compressor Oil
Bambi’s, bought from Lion, come with synthetic oil for better performance. Use also in older models, but drain oil first.
This is also suitable for many other makes including JUN-AIR and FOME.
