Mitre Saw Fence Kit - for hand and electric mitre saws #F100-5-MET
Key to successful framing is to cut mitres at exactly 45o and to cut each
pair to exactly the same length
The Saw Measuring Fence kit from Logan can fitted to work with many hand and single blade power mitre saws. The printed measuring scale (metric only) allows accurate measuring of the rebate length of the moulding to be cut. The sliding stops ensure that each mitred pair is exactly the same length.
It is important to clamp the moulding firmly in place before cutting. The Measuring Fence takes advantage of the very wide availability of good quality ratchet clamps at low cost. Users should buy several, of different sizes. They are easy and quick to position and used with care or some extra padding won’t damage the moulding. Typically, you might need eight clamps.
The Fence kit consists of a shorter arm, 670mm long and a longer measuring arm, 1345mm long. Both arms are made from the same heavy gauge L-section aluminium with a bed 70mm wide and the back fence 45mm tall. Each has two heavy gauge adjustable supports which slide into slots on the underside of the L-section. These supports have 7mm holes allowing fitment to a base board (not supplied, and we suggest size around 2200mm x 400mm, 18mm thick). Minimum baseboard to measuring table height is 60mm, maximum is 110mm, or more with spacers.
The sliding stops are easily adjusted and are designed so that they do not damage the ‘pointed’ end of cut moulding.
Fully illustrated instructions are included. Feel free to download these to learn more prior to purchasing.
They are in English, German, French and Spanish and are on our website.

The two arms are cut from a substantial custom extrusion. The upper bracket twin-bolts to a T-slot in the underside, to allow lengthwise adjustment. The wide, stable, bottom bracket has slots with twin bolts for vertical adjustment.
The shorter and longer arms fit either side of almost any hand or power saw of your choice.

The Saw Fence kit, with a base board, can be adjusted to fit many electric and hand mitre saws
The moulding should be clamped in position before mitre cutting. Hand ratchet clamps do this very well and are reasonably priced.

Hand Mitre Sander
Made in UK
When using a hand mitre saw, the end-faces of the moulding are often not too smooth. This tool can help you sand them smooth, to give a better join quality.
The base has a protractor guide fence, which is marked for 45° each way. Hold the mitred moulding in place and slide the sander to smooth the face. A tip is to draw three light pencil lines across the face. Once they have all faded equally, it’s time to stop.
In use, you would sand one end of each of the four frame pieces, then swing it round and do the other ends.
The sanding block is nicely shaped with a side glider to prevent the sanding belt rubbing on the base plate. The sanding belt fits over the block and a spring device keeps it in tension.
Base plate is moulded and has 3.8mm holes to fix it to a baseboard. Base is 235 x 182mm. Protractor fence is 145mm long. Sanding block is 125mm and the belts are 40mm wide. 4 belts are supplied with the tool.
This is a neat tool but be a little bit wary. It is good value at its price and with care and practice it will help users get good results. But there is a reason why a Morso is as expensive as it is!
