Display & Hang High Definition Metal Prints
Sublimated prints on metal panels and other substrates are increasingly popular for both photogift and fine art photography.
These fabulous images on metal look great floating away from the wall.
Working with leading metal print manufacturers, we have developed our elegant Aluminium Sub Frame Profiles. They bond to the back of a panel to space it away from the wall, keep it flat and provide options for safe and secure hanging.
The aluminium profile is joined to make a sub-frame using LION’s unique moulded push-in corners. They have a combination of curves that create a slight concave at the contact face. Aluminium panels can flex in transit and if this happens, a sub-frame with sharp mitred corners can create dimples in the surface of the panel.
The corners are moulded in a light grey colour which tones with the aluminium profile. When customers
flip over their beautiful art print, they’ll find a sleek, professional finish on the back. The sub-frame gives
them an easy and safe way to hang their picture on normal picture hooks. Or it can be secured using T-Screws.
LION sub-frames come in two profile depths:
SUB25
SUB15 floats the panel 15mm from the wall. With bonding
tape pre-applied it is ideal for smaller panels and thinner
substrates. Or, apply H/D bonding tape to the un-taped version for larger panels and thicker substrates.
SUB25 floats the panel 25mm from the wall. It is fixed with H/D bonding tape, making it suitable for most panel sizes and substrates.

Solvent Wipes for surface preparation
HD Bonding Tape
A thick, very high bond tape which is ideal for securing an aluminium sub-frame to the back of a printed panel.
Take care when you use it, because it‘s very difficult to peel off. Use Solvent Wipes, see left, to prepare contact surfaces prior to applying HD Bonding Tape.
The HD Bonding tape has a red filmic liner, which will not easily tear. 0.80mm thick, approx.
DSR Anti-Static Dust Roller
Perfect for micro-cleaning panels

No more wasted work through dust on
prints and laminates.
With a brush or a blow gun, the dust is pushed away to creep
back again soon after. If
you use a DSR roller, dust particles,
attach themselves to it as you roll it across the surface.
To clean, simply roll it across a sticky board, such as a piece of Daler Xtra-Tak or ColourMount Thick Tak, p.41. Dust and particles are left behind, making it ready to use again. Or, wash it in warm water with some detergent.
DSR is made of medium-soft silicone rubber that will not damage the surface and will not stick to most open adhesive surfaces, so, easy to clean.

HD Bonding Tape
Adhesives work best if
the surfaces to be bonded are
totally clean and grease free. These
solvent wipes contain 70% isopropyl alcohol which dries almost instantly. Always wipe contact faces before bonding a sub-frame to a panel. See p.128.
